Nasimi district was established on 13.06.1969, the territory is 10 sq. kilometers, and the population are 202400. The district is bordering with Narimanov district on the north-east, Sabail district on the south, Yasamal district on the west and Binagadi district on the north. 48.9% of the total number of the population is men and 51.1% is women and 88.1% is Azerbaijanis and 11.9% is other nationalities. 10409 IDPs and 14476 refugees have settled in Nasimi district. A municipality is functioning in the district.
